今天一大早看邮件,收到Wiley Materials Science发来的邮件,告知旗下数个期刊的最新影响因子。我最关心的是Advanced Optical Materials。
去年有一个稿件想投那里,学生说没有影响因子,怕影响毕业,投了Optics Letters,结果主编建议直接转到Photonic Research(上海光机所2012年创办的新期刊),也是没有影响因子,学生不同意,最后投了RSC Advances。现在,最新的影响因子出来了,AOM的因子4.06,如果PR的因子如期刊自己预测那样也超过4,我们就亏了。
现在博士生毕业有影响因子的要求,所以学生们都不愿意投新刊物,这是不是也算功利心呢?我本来对影响因子没有太多关心,但现实逼得我也越来越关心,这不,破天荒讨论起影响因子了。我们单位对发表文章有奖励,按照领域和影响因子综合考虑,这直接关系到奖金和经费匹配呀,不得不重视。
以前我是按照文章内容投读者集中的期刊,发现不行,OL虽然影响很大,但因子才3点多,远不及那些纳米材料的期刊,所以我的光学薄膜文章不太愿意投光学期刊了,除非涉及方法论的。我想大多数同行的想法都一样,放弃根据领域选择期刊,转而按照影响因子选择期刊,所以领域权威刊物的影响因子很难上去。这也是无奈呀。
